Hi, I bought 1954 SV13, 3 months ago and I am doing now some restoration to it, it works fine but I need to fix the automate I have the same problem as "J" with the worm, and when I get there I will fix it. Here some pics of where I found it and the progress until now

Yes I make the same technique, I down size the 22.4mm of the shaft to 20mm
My bearing is NKI 2016 SKF
For the lubrication no problem , I put the Nipple above.
Look at the picture and let me know if you understand my bad english.

I have few questions...

Did you downsize it to 20mm exactly or .010+ ?

Does the (b)16mm of the bearing seat all the way on the shaft that you downsize to 20mm?

The top of the worm shaft that end with internal thread, does not it blocked the oil from dripping from the top nipple you put on the cover?

Is it correct that you cancelled the original nipple coming from the side? obviously no need for it if you lubricating from the top.

If you did took photos of the assembly under the cover, I would be happy to see and appreciate it.

..... J'ai usiné l'axe à +/- 20mm avec le roulement comme "Template" et faire en sorte qu'il entre serrant.
(Il est mieux d'avoir le roulement avant d'usiner l'axe.)

..... Non, avant de fermer le couvercle, il faut remplir l'intérieur du filetage. Quand il serra remplir d'huile, tout le surplus que tu vas mettre s'écoulera sur la l'axe pour lubrifier tout le mécanisme.

..... Non, j'ai gardé "l'original nipple" pour pouvoir lubrifier le premier pignon ainsi que les roulements qui ce trouve juste en dessous.

..... Malheureusement je ne peut te faire que cette photo si non je doit démonté toute la table.
Mais rien de compliqué, juste usiné le pignon pour que tout passe sous le couvercle.
