I am curious about the origins of the Cornac make of horizontal boring mills. If anyone here can provide background information on the original company and its product line, I would be grateful.

In particular, I wonder 1) when and in which city the Cornac machines were first made, 2) if the maker of Cornac machines made other types of machine tools -- here in the US, the companies manufacturing horizontal boring mills often also made radial-arm drilling machines, and 3) if the original maker of Cornac machines merged with another company or companies before becoming a member of H. Ernault - Somua.
