I joined because I am building a .8 scale replica of the French designed Petite-Lime bench hand shaper, I only speak English, unfortunately, the translation feature does not work with posts in the forum,

I found this link from a post in Practical Machinist and decided to join,

Hello Walter,

Welcome on the forum.

Can you drop the link of the Practical Machinist post, I would like to have a look at it?
The replica you are building is a Rapid Lime or a Petite-Lime as you wrote ? I am asking because the Petite-Lime is unknown from me and I would like to get more détails about it.

Sorry, my English is not perfect but for sure creative !

Welcome on the forum.

Can you drop the link of the Practical Machinist post, I would like to have a look at it?
The replica are you building is a Rapid Lime or a Little Lime as you wrote? I am asking because of the Little Lime is unknown and I would like to get more details about it.

Sorry, my English is not perfect for sure creative!

Hello Michel,
I'm so sorry if I have misled you, you are correct I am using the Rapide design for my project and for some reason I have mistakenly called it Petite, the link from Practical Machinist was:

https://www.usinages.com/threads/rapid-lime.3244/

You are correct, I have used photos of the Rapide to get my scaled dimensions, I managed to get 5 rough dimensional sketches from a youtube member and went from there, the reason for scaling the project to .800 decimal scale is my lathe and mill are mini Taig machines,

Your English is 100% better than my knowledge of the French Language,

Edmund............Alberta

A + Bernard [/ QUOTE]

Hello chabercha, thank you for your welcome post and sorry I cannot speak French, I have found out that if I right click on a French post I can right click and select translate to English and all is in the English language,

This forum takes getting used to, please be patient while I get the hang of it,
