Hello guys, some other news about the TV280 (as usual, super schematic explanation and then photo)

TOP SLIDE HANDWHEEL: finally I've received a 3 H7 reamer from Germany, so I've been able to properly drill a hole on the handwhell. More precisely this hole is located into the groove in which has to be mounted a sort of piston ring. The expanding ring function is to keep the graduated drum from spinning by friction, so into the just drilled hole I'll put a pin to retain the ring itself. To complete the modification I've also made a dowel pin ginding a piece of HSS to size using my Deckel S0 (during Covid era most of the industrial hardware store were closed).

SCREW SPACERS: I've made also two new spacers for the top slide screw (TS009 and TS013 ), the short one has to be mounted between the angular bearings that support the screw and has to be ground to size to adjust the preload, the long one has to be mounted between the rear bearing and the handwheel.

NEW SCREW BEARINGS: got also a pair of new FAG angular contact bearings, I've been lucky enough to find them in P5 precision class for a reasonable price because they were NOS.

So, for now the top slide has to be put on the shelf because to start assembling the new bearing support I need to use my friend surface grinder to adjust the thickness of the spacers, in other words, we will see....

Next topic is the lathe base inside and outside cleaning. This part of the adventure has been almost a nightmare because the machine was incredibly dirty and there was not so much space to reach all the corners. Anyway, we got it!

Bonjour les gars, quelques autres nouvelles sur le TV280 (comme d'habitude, explication super schématique puis photo)

VOLANT SUPÉRIEUR: j'ai finalement reçu un alésoir 3 H7 d'Allemagne, j'ai donc pu percer correctement un trou sur le volant. Plus précisément ce trou est situé dans la rainure dans laquelle doit être montée une sorte de segment de piston. La fonction d'anneau en expansion est d'empêcher le tambour gradué de tourner par friction, donc dans le trou juste percé, je mettrai une épingle pour retenir l'anneau lui-même. Pour terminer la modification, j'ai également fabriqué une cheville à goujonner un morceau de HSS à la taille en utilisant mon Deckel S0 (à l'époque de Covid, la plupart des quincailleries industrielles étaient fermées).

ENTRETOISES À VIS: J'ai également fait deux nouvelles entretoises pour la vis coulissante supérieure (TS009 et TS013), la courte doit être montée entre les roulements angulaires qui soutiennent la vis et doit être rectifiée à la taille pour régler la précharge, la long doit être monté entre le roulement arrière et le volant.

NOUVEAUX ROULEMENTS À VIS: j'ai également reçu une paire de nouveaux roulements à contact oblique FAG, j'ai eu la chance de les trouver dans la classe de précision P5 à un prix raisonnable car ils étaient NOS.

Donc, pour l'instant, la glissière supérieure doit être mise sur l'étagère car pour commencer à assembler le nouveau support de roulement, je dois utiliser mon ami meuleuse de surface pour ajuster l'épaisseur des entretoises, en d'autres termes, nous verrons ....

Le sujet suivant est le nettoyage intérieur et extérieur de la base du tour. Cette partie de l'aventure a été presque un cauchemar car la machine était incroyablement sale et il n'y avait pas tellement d'espace pour atteindre tous les coins. Quoi qu'il en soit, nous l'avons!
