    Bonjour à tous

I hope you will forgive me for not writing in French. (I am trying to teach myself your beautiful language - tres difficile )

I found this wonderful site when one of my animations (a co-axial indicator) was used here (a link to this site was listed on my stats page)

I'm a hobby machinist with a Hardinge HLV-H Lathe and a Haighton Milling machine and a much modified Drill/Mill.

I seem to spend most of my time making tools and fixing machines.

I hope i can contribute something while learning a little French .

    Mercy beau-coup,

    Bill

    Hello Bill,

    welcome on this machinists community.
    Most of us are hobbyist.
But many are retired or active professionals, who share with us their experience and "tricks of the trade" .

Hope you will find this site helpful and interesting, despite the language barrier.

Looking at your machine mods, you seem to be very creative.
Your Vespa based drill press continuous speed changer is a must in DIY machine tool enhancement !
As a large part of this site is devoted to machine restoration, many here will be interested in the "screwless lead screw" design.

Incidentally, I'm the guy who linked your very nice animation to this site...

Hope this is OK for you (I always give credit where it's due, or a link to the original site).

    Wellcome,
Some of us are English spokers, with many mistakes, obviously, but it is very interestiong for us to have foreign members: it is very difficult to us to find, for exemple, one bolt of imperial dimension, which is broken on an old machine, or a single tap to thread again a damaged hole.
    Have a good day
